Dishwashers

Almost every dishwasher is 60 cm wide; 45 cm slimlines suit small kitchens. The choice is how much of it you want to see.

What works

Fully integrated

A joinery door panel covers the whole front, so the kitchen reads as one run of cabinets. Tell the joiner the model: the panel size and hinge depend on it.

Semi integrated

Joinery panel with the control strip showing on top.

Built under

Its own stainless or white front, sitting under the bench. The cheapest way to fit one in a run of cabinets.

Dish drawers

One or two drawers instead of a door: no bending, and run one drawer for a small load.

Before you buy: Put it next to the sink, on the side you stack from, with the cold water and waste under the sink. Integrated models fit a set cavity height (often 820 to 870 mm), so the bench height and kickboard have to suit it.
